I read that the awd will still work with a bad speed sensor. Like.I believe prior to 1996, Polaris used welded on tags on the vertical frame strut. After 1996, it should be on the horizontal frame, behind the wheel. Stamped into the frame. Could have been a machine that was totaled and a new frame installed. I have never pulled a flywheel from anthing but the older models. I have the special Polaris flywheel puller that I use. The threaded holes in the older model flywheels are 8mm and 10mm thread. Hello Everyone. I have a 2005 Polaris Sportsman 700 Twin. The first problem I have is that the speedo is broken. The display will still show hrs, kms and what gear you are in but the needle will either do nothing or go up and down wildly. Sometime it says you are doing 70mph when stood still.I downloaded it on from a thread on this site (Service Manuals file #5).
